Philately is something I never thought I’d be interested in. Sure, I had a stamp collection when I was young but it was mostly just whatever stamps my parents found off of the letters our relatives in Europe sent us. They’d go into a tin and after a couple of years, the tin was stashed away in a closet and forgotten about.
Many years later and deep into other hobbies, I started thinking about stamps again. At first, it was just collecting a few astronomy-related stamps. Then some Canadian history stamps became of interest. I started reading more and watching videos about philately and before I knew it, I was caught in this world of small pieces of paper.
I started this blog to keep track of all the amazing stories that philately has brought to me. The specifics of a stamp such as its catalog number or monetary value isn’t that interesting to me. The history and meaning of a stamp is what grips me. And these are the stories I want to tell.
Hope you enjoy!
